Bright Vachirawit Chivaaree on his favorite things to do in Bangkok and fashion essentials

A CNA Lifestyle interview with Bright revealed little-known facts about the 25-year-old rising Thai star. Bright was in Singapore to celebrate the launch of the first outdoor YSL Beauty Libre pop-up.

Look at how bright Vachirawit Chivaaree’s star is right now. His mother definitely knew what she was doing when she named him.

With 17.6 million Instagram followers and 4.6 million Twitter followers, he’s one of Thailand’s most popular stars.

Bright is a household name in Thailand, having hosted his first variety show at the age of 15 called Strawberry Krubcake.

His leading role as Sarawat in 2gether: The Series in 2020 propelled him to international stardom. Not only did the show become a popular show on LINE TV, but both Bright and his fellow Thai actor, Win Metawin O, were cast as the leads in the series.

Both pas-lamkajorn and We are 2gether reprised their roles in the sequel, Still 2gether, and its movie spin-off, We are 2gether.

The Thai adaptation of the popular Japanese manga, Hana Yori Dango, led Bright to stardom in 2021 as Thyme in F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers. Those are the same series that swept Asia with Meteor Garden in Taiwan and Boys Over Flowers in South Korea.

CNA Lifestyle sat down with the 25-year-old to discover little-known facts about his singing career, his shopping habits, and his must-visit Bangkok spots.

Always putting his best foot forward

It’s obvious that Bright is a social media star. And he keeps connected by posting about his daily life and experiences on Instagram Stories. Because you can’t upload too many posts in a day, but you can upload a lot of Stories in a day, I always share on Stories. “You can follow me on Instagram if you want to see what I do every day,” he added cheekily.

In order to keep his fans happy, Bright has to keep himself looking his best at all times. His little-known grooming secret? “Don’t forget to trim your nose hair. It’s disgusting if you don’t.” It’s also a tip he has for men everywhere.

To keep those stray hairs at bay, Bright travels with a pair of little scissors.

BEING A SOLO ARTIST VS. BEING A PART OF A BAND

With over 610,000 Spotify followers, the 25-year-old Thai actor is also an accomplished singer.

He released his first Thai single in 2021, Unmovable, and his first English single, Lost and Found, the following year. The year 2023 has only just begun, but he has already released two new English tracks: My Ecstasy (featuring D Gerrard) and Saturday Night in January. In the meantime, the latter has accumulated over 1.1 million streams on YouTube and Spotify.

Bright, however, admitted that he never considered becoming a solo performer. “I grew up in my uncle’s music school before I became a musician, so I never imagined myself as a solo performer, but always with a band. As a result, I feel more comfortable in a band than when I perform alone.”

Since learning musical instruments at his uncle’s school, Bright has been part of a band with his friends – he plays guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard.
