On New Year’s Day, Hawkeye actor 51 was plowing snow when the accident occurred
According to the actor’s representative, Jeremy Renner suffered serious injuries while plowing snow on New Year’s Day (Jan 1).
Renner’s rep confirmed with entertainment magazine Variety that he is in critical but stable condition after suffering injuries in a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today. He is receiving excellent care and his family is with him.
As Hawkeye/Clint Barton in the Marvel franchise, Renner, 51, has lived in Washoe County, Nevada for several years, but it is unclear exactly where he was when he was injured.
A storm on Near Year’s Eve brought heavy snowfall to that area in northern Nevada, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Additionally, Renner is a two-time acting Oscar nominee, having been nominated for Best Actor for The Hurt Locker and Best Supporting Actor for The Town.
In 2008′s The Hurt Locker, he played a bomb disposal specialist in Iraq that made him a household name. As well as Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival, David O. Russell’s American Hustler, 28 Weeks Later, The Bourne Legacy, and two Mission: Impossible films, he has also starred in a number of critical and commercial hits.
With numerous sequels to The Avengers and its own Disney+ series, Hawkeye, his character cemented his place in Marvel’s grand storytelling ambitions.
Currently, Renner is starring in Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown, which premieres its second season this month. He is also working on an unscripted series for Disney+ called Rennervations, which will debut in 2023.
